A New Voice in Contemporary Blues
Ben is not only committed to his music but also to making a difference. In an effort to raise awareness on the plight of musicians today, Killen has committed to donating all proceeds from the sales of his debut single, including any subsequent B-sides, for the first calendar-year of its release, by donating 100% of the proceeds to charity Killen hope to add his support and continue to raise awareness for Congresswoman R. Tlaib’s Bill “Living Wage for Musicians Act of 2024” H.R. 7763; aimed at elevating streaming royalties and overall pay and wages for musicians across the board. This noble cause highlights his dedication to spotlighting challenges faced by and advocating for fellow artists.

Ben Killen is an Alabama-born, NYC-based artist whose soulful sound and authentic style are making waves in the music world. Drawing inspiration from Soul and Blues legends like Howlin’ Wolf, Lead Belly, Hank Williams, Candi Staton, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Otis Redding and Bill Withers, Ben’s music is a stirring blend of tradition and innovation. With themes of authenticity and bravado, his powerful voice and distinctive “Tut Taylor” dobro (acoustic steel guitar) playing style captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impression.

Exciting things are on the horizon for Ben Killen. Stay tuned for the announcement of his upcoming single release show in NYC, where fans can experience his electrifying live acoustic performances. Additionally, Ben is working on a longer-form project, with details of a forthcoming EP or possibly even LP to be revealed very soon. A small US/North American tour is also in the works, bringing his music to a broader audience.
Killen’s creativity extends beyond his music. He has directed and edited his own official music video in stunning 4K, showcasing his talents both in front of and behind the camera. Additionally, he has created a historically-focused lyric video featuring imagery of his hometown hero and elder statesman, W.C. Handy, the “Father of the Blues.” These visual projects add a rich, immersive layer to his musical storytelling.
